Coupons 2

Please bear with me as I am still getting use to this new blog. If I can add a few things to my previous blog. This will probably happen a lot, I write stuff, then later remember things I wanted to say so I have to go back and add them, I sure that happens to everybody. Anyway, adding a couple of things to the last blog.........I need to touch on the idea of "extra bucks" and "register rewards." I think they are pretty much worthless, I say that because you they may give you back 1 dollar on 2, but you still have to pay the 2, so they get your money either way. The only way I personally see these reward things working is if you have coupons to off set the deals, for instance, this week at cvs if you spend 20 dollars on select products they give you 10 dollars back, well, without coupons you still have to pay 20 dollars, so right off the bat you are out 20 dollars, unless, you can reduce the 20 with coupons, as long as your total is 20 before coupons, you can still get the 10 back, so I would choose items that have coupons with them to reduce the 20, if you could get that down to 20 dollars worth of items for 10 dollars, and they give you 10 back in extra bucks, I would do that, but it does not happen often, some sites give you "deal" scenarios getting extra bucks back, read over them carefully. Also, walgreens puts store coupons in their weekly ad, you can use these coupons in conjunction with other coupons, if they have a store coupon for dawn dishwashing liquid for $1, and you have a coupon for 50 cent off dawn, use them both and get the dishwashing liquid for 50 cent. In addition, I found 50 cent off halls cough drops coupons in cvs in the cough drop aisle, kroger puts these on sale for a dollar all the time, so grab some of them, when kroger puts them on sale, you will get them free, or for pennies, even if you don't use them, they are free, and can go towards your points at kroger to get money off of gas. What is that you may ask, when you shop at kroger you accumulate points, point totals are at the bottom of the receipt, when you get 100 points, you can go to the shell station in Collinsville and get 10 cent off of your gas, but wait, for every 100 points you have, up to I think 300, you get another 10 cent off, they can only be used once, meaning, if I have 300 points now, I can go and get 30 cent off each gallon of gas, (fill up both cars when you do), but I have to gain a minimum of 100 before I can go back, and getting these free items adds to your point total. Also, need a specific item and don't have a coupon for it, Google it, many times I find coupons for items that way.....ok, redbox, free movie codes, DVDONME, BREAKROOM, DVDKROG-only at kroger, blockbuster has codes out there as well, and you can use more than one card per code, as long as you return it the next day it is free, no strings attached. One thing I did not touch on is meat prices, I don't think I have ever found coupons for meat, but food lion marks their meat down all the time, we buy it and freeze it, I got already cooked chicken strips the other day for $1, they have not "expired" for those wondering, they are not allowed to sell expired meat, and I put them in the freezer, good for 9 months. If anyone else finds good coupon deals, please pass them along, as I find them I will definitely pass them along. Questions, litlpat@hotmail.com
